How to Cure Anxiety Problems and Disorders

Healing Anxiety and Panic, Phobias, OCD and more...

Anxiety is part of being human. It is a survival instinct that has evolved over millions of years; a series of mind and body responses that help to warn us of danger and keep us from being hurt.

Everyone feels anxious at times. But for some of us anxiety grows stronger; it gets out of control and occurs more easily and more often.

It can become so powerful that it gives rise to other problems such as: excessive nervousness and worrying, obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours, panic attacks, irrational fears and phobias, even severe depression.

Today, many many people are struggling silently with anxiety disorders.

... Some search constantly for reasons and answers.

... Others try therapy or medication; diets and supplements; help from others and
self-help, only to feel no better than when they first started, or in some cases,
    even worse.

... Many purchase methods or programs claiming to be the answer, only to be let
    down again.

Nothing seems to work.

One thing is for sure: today's treatments aren't working.

Current beliefs about mental illness, genetics, chemical imbalances, physical brain problems, and treatments based on these beliefs have failed millions of people desperate to be cured.

... For they miss the real cause of the problem and never deal with it at all.

They leave us struggling with symptoms, fighting in the dark, trying to deal with something when we don't even know what it is.

Indeed, there is a vast amount of research that actually proves the current ideas and theories about genetics, chemical imbalances etc. are wrong:

Take, for example, the Nobel Prize-winning research on genetics by Barbara McClintock. Here, she showed that, far from being fixed, DNA can actually change due to experience. Genes change, they are our past not our future. ... We need not be slaves to our genes!

Unfortunately, most of today's theories are inaccurate, misleading and overlook the bigger picture.

As you know, we don't simply wake up one day with an anxiety problem. It starts off slowly and gets stronger and stronger over time.

Few of us, if any, had these problems as children. Usually just the opposite.Yet something happens that turns the confidence we had as a child into anxiety.

Something happens to us that takes away our confidence and fills us with insecurity. So much insecurity that anxiety (our self-protection system) kicks in.

And it isn't a defective gene, or an imbalance of chemicals (the neurotransmitters: Serotonin and Dopamine are usually the ones blamed) or that our brains are somehow different from 'normal' people's.

... It is a whole series of experiences, learning, feelings, thoughts and behaviours that set the ball rolling towards insecurity and anxiety problems.

And once we understand exactly what happens ... we can stop it completely.

The explanations and techniques in this book:-

Deal with underlying processes and drives, not just the symptoms:
For example, take perfectionsim. How can we expect someone to practise not being perfect in situations when they have an inner self-protective drive to be perfect? We have to understand this drive, how it connects to the problem and tackle it from this level – when the reason for the need to be perfect is understood and adapted there is no more need for the behaviour.

Are based on how these problems affect our mind and body:
It shows how to use the same way these problems develop and strengthen – to weaken and stop them.

Can help with many types of disorder:
For in a very real sense the underlying reasoning, drives and processes of anxiety disorders (and most forms of depression) are the same – only the content differs. Many people display elements of a number of 'disorders' rather than one 'pure' disorder. For example, someone classified as having OCD can also have elements of GAD, social phobia and depression; people with depression can experience heightened anxiety and many people with anxiety disorders experience some degree of depression.

About anxiety disorders

break

Freedom From Anxiety Disorders is for those who suffer the anguish, despair and depression of loneliness rather than face the perceived rejection that social failure may bring.

... It is for those who experience as much fear and panic going into a shop or
stepping outdoors as if they were going to face a firing squad..

... And for those who are so convinced that they are physically or mentally ill that no
medical tests can convince them otherwise.

... It is for those who scrub themselves hundreds of times a day or repeat phrases /
perform rituals, obsessively and compulsively, to allay the anxiety over some
    uncontrollable bad thought.

... And for those who look back on a life with regret, in depression longing for the
person they feel they could have been or should have been.

It is for all these people, for although these problems are classified as different disorders, the thought processes, feelings and behaviours involved in all of them develop and grow in the same way.
